Is Knorr Taste Quest a failed master chef copycat experiment??

I used to be a foodie,but now I am just a passive foodie which kinda means in my "Vocab" that I love food, I love to eat good food,I love to look at good food,I love to watch cookery shows,I love to watch chefs cook and "design" Plates going out to diners but I dont necessarily cook every dish or experiment with every recipe I come across.

-Because cooking is sometimes tedious

-why should i do it when i can pay for it

-I would rather watch a squid dish being prepared than being brought to my own table

-Some dishes may not just fit into My "very Nigerian" Palate

-Some dishes are  prob actually just experiments off the chef's hyped imagination

-I have to watch what I eat;as we all don't have the same Metabolism rates.

Right! I hold my hands up I did not watch Knorr taste quest season 1 and I am not sure if it was the same format as it is now.The Masterchef format which I think the show follows has been franchised in so many countries,Australia,Canada,New Zealand and lots more, but  I think this show needs a revamp!  Ild tell you why!

Ild start with him! He reallt thinks he is the best thing since we discovered we could see our reflections in the mirror.

He is an executive chef for that i doff my hat but! he so much drives panic into the hearts of the contestants.

There was an episode i watched and I could virtually see the contestant presenting her food to the judges heaving heavily, her heart going up and down and trembling in fear for what now.. I mean this guy was still asking what was Gizdodo and dint even know what a bechamel sauce was hello??!

His use of the word "Hot mess" ohh my! say that again Dr Robert and amma break my TV! There is no standard critic or feedback for the contestants, if the food is bad how do they improve for next time??

Jaywon leaves Kennis music?

Jaywon has reportedly notified his management Kennis music of his intention to opt of his contract with the Record Label.

Kennis music is however not taking this lightly if their statement is anything to go by..

 "Iledare Oluwajuwonlo James aka Jaywon has written a letter via his lawyer requesting for his contract with Kennis Music to be terminated.

JAYWON wrote, in the same letter, his readiness and willingness to pay off all costs therein accordingly.

Meanwhile, Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria IBAN MEMBERS and all broadcasters on all platforms are hereby advised to Un-list the works (Either single performances or and collaborations) of Iledare Oluwajuwonlo James aka Jaywon from their respective rotational play lists until his (Jaywon) request to buy over his contract is fully completed to avoid litigation.

"How did you get into pageantry?

I was persuaded/advised by a friend to go into the pageant. He thought I had the quality and that I could do well. I procrastinated for about a week before I eventually got the form.

On getting into the camp and being surrounded by other beautiful girls, did you ever envisage winning the MBGN?

I was intimidated at first. I felt the other girls I met there had better qualities than I did, and I felt they were more beautiful than I was, so, I was very intimidated. I felt I wasn’t even going to scale through the first audition.

Losing Project Fame prize made me stronger –Praiz Adejo

Ohhh Hello Praiz! today is Praiz' birthday by the way so Happy Happy Birthday..

In a recent interview with Punch, he opens up on his career,life after project fame,his collaboration with Awilo and that noble deed of raising 10 Million naira for baby Zumayah who had a hole in heart.

Your song, Rich and Famous, was a success. Would you say you are finally rich and famous?

I would say I am comfortable enough to fend for myself, my family and the people around me. You can never be rich enough. For example, we all know that Aliko Dangote is the richest person in Africa but he would still not be comfortable with where he is. He just keeps working hard to be richer and better. I am rich and famous but I want to be richer and more famous.

If you had not lost to Iyanya during the Project Fame competition, do you think you would have been this big?

Only God knows. I might not have been this big. I believe not winning served as a lesson to me and people around me. The fact that I lost does not mean that I would not succeed in future. It just means that I should be persistent, work hard and be patient. Trust me, things would fall in place.

Were you depressed when you did not win then?

I did not feel depressed immediately. I was happy because I got a car and a million naira. But after realising I had things to sort out, I discovered that a million naira was not much. When you know you have a family and personal issues to straighten out, a million naira is nothing. After Project Fame, I was down for a certain time because I needed to relocate to Lagos from Kaduna where I was based. I lacked the resources to do so and it became a major challenge to me. When I got to Lagos, I had to stay with a friend, Oscar, who sheltered me for about two years.

Nigerian Youths and the Cancer Fight;a Project Pink Initiative..

Project PINK is a personal community development service project by Corps member Runcie C.W.  Chidebe, on Breast & Cervical Cancer awareness and free screening. Project Pink is a bottom-top action-based project that is primarily focused on reducing the incidence of cancer in Nigeria,

championed by youths.

We want every man and woman in Nigeria to be breast and cervical cancer aware, because when cancer affects a woman, the man and the family will be affected psychologically and otherwise. Screenings costs about N3,000-N11,000 in radio-diagnostics centres and hospitals depending on screening type, but, we are giving all these screenings free of charge. It is an initiative powered with the passion to reduce incidence of cancer, for example, cervical cancer at early stage does not have any symptom until its late stage. For this reason, early detection saves life.

INSPIRATION

The inspiration to initiate a project that will provide awareness backed with FREE screening for women, arose from the number of people who are dying of Breast and Cervical Cancer in the villages and otherwise. The death rate is alarming! For instance, Nigeria has been rated the 1st nation and fifth in the world with highest cervical cancer deaths. It was reported that in Nigeria, 9,659 women are dying of cervical cancer every year (Cervical Cancer Free Coalition, Crisis Card May 2013). It is more painful because cervical cancer is a preventable cancer.

Yes we all love Yoruba movies(well me) for their very educative story lines, humour and fantastic representation of the Yoruba culture.

In the very accommodating culture of the Yoruba's we have so many non Yoruba actors and actresses plying their trade in the Yoruba genre.

 This cannot be said of in the English genre, truth is the Yoruba section is always kind of relegated as the "class B's" which isn't supposed to be so I mean apart from Omotola and recently Funke Akindele and Eniola Badmus, there hasnt really been room for Yoruba actresses in English movies despite some of them also being very much educated.

Obesere Rape Saga Update;Obesere shares his own account of events.

In the Light of all the controversy surrounding this case and it being transfered to another crime unit,the Omorapala crooner on a recent programme on MITV opened up on his side of the story..


“She visited me at home at night and it was too late for her to return to her place. I won’t lie about the fact that we had intimate encounter. But I did not rape her. And it was about four or five days after she visited me that she went to the police to allege that I raped her.

“I went to the police station but when when I realized that the officers there were favouring her as a complainant, I requested them to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba.

“There, they asked her for evidence that she was raped. There was no injury on her. Her clothes were intact. When she couldn’t produce evidence, the police advised her not to attempt to blackmail me. They advised her to gently approach me and ask for help if she wanted anything.

I do not know Aisha Personally (except from watching her on TV of course)but my heart bleeds for her, I cannot begin to fathom the pain and hurt she would be feeling I mean she just lost her child who was only 19 in tragic circumstances.

Scandal; Fuji Maestro Obesere reportedly arrested for rape..

According to a Vanguard report,Popular Fuji musician,  Alhaji Abass Akande, popularly known as Obesere, has been arrested  by the Police in Lagos State for allegedly raping a 29-year-old business woman, Miss Olanike Olaiya in his Okota residence, Lagos.
The victim, who took the matter to the Police, also narrated her ordeal in the hands of the musician whose shows generally fascinate society women.
