And Joan Rivers gets her Hollywood star studded funeral (PHOTOS)

Scores of notable Hollywood celebrities turned up at New York's Temple Emanu-El to remember the legendary funny woman who passed away at 81 on Thursday

Stars like Kathy Griffin, Whoopie Goldberg, Howard Stern and many more were on ground to pay their last respects.

That was one of Joan's last wishes for Hollywood superstars to attend her funeral and she sure got it!

We were all really hoping she would pull through.

I mean procedures at her age would have been very risky,but thats Joan for you, she did what she wanted,said what she wanted and sure had a lot of fun!

She had complications from a throat surgery,slipped into a medically induced coma,then went to intensive care and was said to be coming around but sadly she lost the battle.

She never hid her love for plastic surgery, and her love of fashion of course!

Its always giggles on her E! hosted show, Fashion police.

Her humour, a bit dry and offensive sometimes..but Joan just wanted to make people laugh..

Her daughter Mellisa released a statement on her passing..

"It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers. She passed peacefully at 1:17 PM surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Mount Sinai hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother."

"Cooper and I have found ourselves humbled by the outpouring of love, support and prayers we have received from around the world.They have been heard and appreciated."

"My mother's greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon."

Joan Rivers in Critical condition;Stopped breathing during surgery

Fashion police host Joan Rivers is said to presently be in a critical condition after her heart stopped during a surgical procedure

 According to reports, at some point, Joan's heart stopped beating. It's unclear if doctors were able to restart the comic's heart. 

TMZ reports that an emergency call was placed to 911 at 9:39 AM ET and the caller said, "We have somebody in either cardiac or respiratory arrest." 

Rivers was said to be undergoing a throat procedure in a clinic (specifically on her vocal chords) ... when she stopped breathing during the surgery. 

81-year-old Rivers was rushed to Mount Sinai hospital in New York. Daughter Melissa is said to be on her way to New York to be by her mother's side..
