Sometime last week a federal high court stripped Ibinabo Fiberesima of her AGN title due to her manslaughter case that was reopened landing her a 5 year jail term..
The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos struck out the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s Board of Trustees and Ibinabo Fiberesima’s suit challenging the nullification of her election as President of the body and also challenging the legitimacy of the presidency of Emeka Ike and his executives.
The implication of this judgment is that the Emeka Ike-led executive remains the only authentic and lawful leadership of AGN.
Prior to now Ibinabo and Emeka had been at each other's throats on who to lead the Nigerian movie industry body
In a recent chat with Saturday Beats, Emeka Ike opens up on finally becoming the man at the helm of affairs.. He said that although he has nothing to do with Ibinabo’s predicament, the actress could bag another jail term because of contempt of court.
“My victory at the court has nothing to do with Ibinabo’s predicament. This case is different and if Ibinabo is going to go to jail for my own case, they should come and beg me. Instead of them to come and beg me, they are still going to the press to say all sorts of rubbish about me. There is still a second jail term for Ibinabo. It is called contempt of court and it would also include Segun Arinze.
